Wake Up to your Bouncebackability!
Can’t remember where I first heard this word but what a fantastic piece of language. Bouncebackability…says it all!
Stuff happens. Life throws us a curve ball. We question what the universe is bringing us, or trying to teach us.
It’s been an interesting day…
It’s not about what happens to us that matters, it’s about how we respond. We’ve been teaching responsibility in the last few days…or should I say “response-ability”, our ability to respond. Life is about choices, and what choice we care to make when unexpected outcomes occur. Come to that, when expected outcomes happen.
We all have a choice in how we respond to events around us. We can play the blame game, and get into victim mode, or we can choose to be more resourceful than that, and get into action.
I’m not saying it’s easy. I’m not saying that sometimes it’s good to wallow in self pity for a while. What I am saying is that playing the blame game serves no purpose and doesn’t get us the result we desire.
So, indulge yourself if you will, in saying “it’s not fair” and then Wake Up to your own Bouncebackability and get resourceful. Choose a more positive response and get the results you deserve. It really is your choice!
Enjoy!
Oh Simon–perfect timing!! THANK YOU–about to go and bounce!!
Nice post Simon,
I’m reading a book at the moment about increasing your financial IQ and actively seeking out financial problems as solving them makes you smarter.
Your article made me think that maybe I should welcome the curve balls as oppotunities to get better at adapting to them.
Daniel
Thanks Daniel.
Absolutely. Have you ever noticed how unproductive and unresourceful we get when we allow ourselves to get bogged down in the problem? In actual fact it’s far easier on us if we just thank the universe for the curve balls and just say BRING IT ON!!
The challenge, as Anne said, is that we often teach what we need to learn, and I’ve been having to practice bouncebackability this week. Lovin’ it, as one famous brand would say.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Hi Simon
What a great blog post….and a great example of “we teach what we need to learn”.
I have been party to a lot of your week which can only be described as interesting and I know this blog is exactly the right learning for you.
I also got it vicariously…as we all do with each other. Some of the huge learning for me last week I got from others.
Several future blogs here I think.
And it reminds me of the change game (courtesy of Frontier Trainings)…we should play this in BNI training sometime!
Love and Light
Anne
